ARE SPORTS MASSAGES ONLY FOR PEOPLE WHO DO SPORTS?

No, not at all! You don't have to be an athlete to benefit from a deep tissue massage.  There are many clients who use Hatch Sports Massage Therapy who struggle with chronic tension brought on by the day to day stresses of life.  Such as tension around the neck and shoulders.  For athletes, sports massage is a great addition to your training regime, helping to reduce fatigue and muscle soreness and improve performance.

HOW DO I BOOK A MASSGE?

Either reach out via the Contact page or message us via our social media pages with some details of what you need, we'll then contact you to find out a little more detail and book you in. If you are a new client then there are some simple forms to complete which helps us understand any historical injuries or issues to consider (don't worry, all your data is stored securely and remains confidential). On your first visit, the initial 10-15 minutes will be taken up by doing a full assessment. This allows for some simple checks to understand your posture, range on movement and flexibility. When your massage is done, then you simply decide to book in again!

DO I NEED TO BE FULLY UNDRESSED?

Clients are advised to wear comfortable loose fitting clothing like sportswear.   This makes it easier when doing the initial assessment.  Once a treatment plan is agreed, you maybe required to remove some items of clothing to gain the full benefits of the massage. This will be agreed before hand and you'll be left to get yourself ready, towels will be provided and once you are comfortable we'll get started.

DO YOU DO HOME VISITS?

Generally all treatment is from my home clinic. This ensures a comfortable treatment that has all the necessary items are on hand and close by. By also not having to cover travel costs and reducing the number of clients seen in a day allows for prices to remain extremely competitive!

ARE YOU PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED?

Yes! Any person offering a service such as Sport Massage Therapy should be able to provide an adequate proof of their level of training and competency. Hatch Sports Massage Therapy are trained to Level 4 Sports Massage Therapy and have an active membership to the Sports Therapy Association. In addition to Sports Massage Therapy we are qualified in Dry Cupping as an alternative and complimenting treatment.

ARE THERE AGE LIMITS?

No, is the short answer.  Our youngest client is 13 and extremely active in their rugby club! Any client under the age of 18 MUST have an appropriate adult (we ask they be over the age of 21) to sit on the full treatment session. Our more mature clients are long into their retirements and use Sport Massage to aid in their own well being.
